Lucille and her family used to live the high life, with her brother as the Duke of Loch Loud. But then, 400 years before the events of the movie, the whole family was driven away by Aggie, the castle caretaker, who only wanted peace and quiet. Later, the family tried going back home to Loch Loud until Aggie brainwashed Lolo the dragon into taking away the Duke’s crown.
Shelby Loud
Lynn Loud Sr.'s mother is a minor character in The Loud House. She is the wife of Leonard Loud, the Loud kids' paternal grandmother, mother of Lynn Sr. and mother-in-law of Rita. He has a pointy long nose like his brother and father and slicked down brown hair. He wears a matching light blue track suit with a white line on the sides and white sneakers.

He is Lynn Sr.'s brother, son of Leonard and the Loud kids' paternal uncle. He is also the husband of Sharon Loud and father of Shane, Shelby and Shiloh Loud. She wears a gold tiara, pink and white ballgown with a flower print in the lower part, and a pink choker shaped like a bow.
Lisa
Lucille's cause of death, along with that of the rest of her family, remains unknown. Her striped clothing is white with black stripes in her organic form, but black with white stripes in her ghost form. Leni's ancestral double is known to have been just as fashion-oriented as Leni is. According to Morag, she was known in Loch Loud for her fashion skills, and her ghost is seen admiring a dress along with Leni and Scott. She is also shown to have been just as ditzy as Leni, since in life, she specified that her boyfriend Scott came from Scotland to her siblings and parents, who all already knew.

Not much is known about her, except that she's a deceased relative of the Loud family. Lucy still treats her as a living person, which indicates that, (assuming Lucy and her siblings knew her when she was still alive) she and Lucy were very close. She is the wife of Lance Loud and the Loud kids' aunt. She is also the mother of Shane, Shelby and Shiloh Loud. Lance is very proud of his muscular build and energetic life.
Lynn Sr.
She looked identical to Lynn except she wears a bun, and wore a white blouse, a leather jerkin, a blue tartan skirt, white socks, and black shoes. She looked identical to Luna, and wore a dark purple cloak, a brown belt, and a blue tartan dress with white, loose sleeves. She looked a lot like Lori, but with different clothes.
Unknown
As such, he would mess around with his brother Lynn when they were receiving Christmas gifts, which eventually caused them to avoid seeing each other. However, he is shown to be a caring father and uncle. Shirley is the Loud kids' aunt (it is unrevealed what side of the family she is on), who first appears in the episode "Picture Perfect". In "Snow Bored", Lucy fruitlessly calls her great-grandmother to save her and Lynn from Lisa's incoming big snowball. Great Grandma Harriet is a minor character, and part of the Loud family.
He gave the first issue of David Steele to his son for his twelfth birthday. Much like Rita, she is a very kind and caring mother for her children. She is also shown to care just as much for her nieces and nephew. Like his father and brother, Lance is very emotional and driven to tears easily.
Lana Loud
He looked almost the same as Lynn Sr. but with a full head of hair with a grey strip in it and side burns. He wore a brown jacket with gold trim, a blue kilt, a black belt, fishnet socks and black shoes with golden buckles. She wears a pearl-pink, old-fashioned, long dress with a V-shaped cut on her chest, a long-sleeved shirt, knee-long socks in black and white horizontal stripes, and purple shoes.
Shirley is a very repulsive woman, with fair skin, curly red hair and a mole on her left cheek. She wears an olive toned dress with light green spots, three golden bracelets on her right arm, olive green studded earrings, pink nail polish and pink lipstick. She looked almost identical to Lily, except her hair was combed down and she wore a lacy blue tartan dress and tan loafers. Mee-Maw is the Loud kids' grandmother (it is unknown which side of the family she is on or who she was married to), who was first mentioned in "Crashed Course".
During Lynn Sr.'s childhood, Lance was apparently the favorite child of their father Leonard (or at least Lynn Sr. believes). In his youth, he sported a hat that bore a strong resemblance to Lana's.

Both movements sought to integrate art and design, with an emphasis on aesthetics and natural forms. The intersection of these two styles can be seen in interior design, where the use of natural elements, ornamental details, and handcrafted materials creates a harmonious and artful living space. Charles Voysey was an architect and designer who made significant contributions to the arts and crafts movement. Known for his innovative and organic designs, Voysey created several influential arts and crafts interiors, including the iconic Broadleys house. Arts and crafts homes often include antique and vintage pieces that blend seamlessly with the design aesthetic.
What are the key elements of Arts and Crafts interior design?
The design style is typically found in country towns either in the mountains or away from the harsher elements of the seaside. The cottagecore movement has helped bolster their popularity as well, making their smaller, compact rooms and square footage a plus, as the popularity of mid-century modern design began to wane. An Arts and Crafts-style home is a small-to-medium sized, single family home that usually is a square shape with two stories. Inside, common fixtures include built-in shelving, fireplaces, and segmented rooms as opposed to an open floor plan.
What was the impact of Arts and Crafts movement?
Arts and Crafts homes often feature detailed but simple wood trim, exposed wood ceilings, wooden ceiling beams, hardwood floors, and wood-paneled walls. The movement against Victorian-style designs began after the Great Exhibition of 1851. The organizers had a distaste for the over-ornate furnishings, which led to a design reformation that spurred the Arts and Crafts movement.
What are the key elements of interior designing?
We can use the movement’s principles as inspiration to craft beautiful, expansive, and, as William Morris dreamed, fulfilling lives for ourselves and for those around us. As more of the home processes became mechanized during the 20th century, there was less need to learn – and rely on – the knowledge of how to do all this traditional work. And, just as William Morris, John Ruskin, Walter Crane, May Morris, Philip Webb, and all the craftsmen of the Arts and Crafts movement, some of us have felt the lack of connection. Some authors call this “flow,” which is the state of being one with our purpose and our work.

The ideas and values that emerged from this event laid the foundation for the arts and crafts movement. This combination of styles adds a unique and eclectic touch to the interior design, creating a space that is both visually interesting and harmonious. By incorporating elements such as botanical prints, nature-inspired artwork, and organic textures, homeowners can create a space that is not only visually appealing but also evokes a sense of tranquility and harmony. A pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement, no interior of this style would be complete without the inclusion of William Morris's world-renowned creations.

John Ruskin, an influential art critic and social thinker, was one of the key advocates of the arts and crafts movement. He believed in the importance of craftsmanship and the value of creating beautiful objects. From embroidered curtains to embellished upholstery, embroidery brings a sense of craftsmanship and individuality to arts and crafts interiors. Intricate patterns and motifs are often hand-embroidered onto fabrics, adding a touch of elegance and artistry to the space. The use of natural fibers and traditional weaving techniques further enhances the arts and crafts style, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. From floral patterns to leafy designs, these motifs bring the beauty of the natural world into the home.

What is so interesting about the design approach of both movements is their commitment to quality craftsmanship, and simultaneous rejection of ornate artificial details. Originally Morris & Co designs were printed in limited colorways, but today many of the prints have been reinvigorated in contemporary palettes perfect for 21st century living. The new Cornubia collection from Ben Pentreath and Morris & Co sees traditional Morris prints for fabrics and wallpapers revived in a vibrant colorways perfect bringing a color pop to upholstery, walls or window treatments. This arts and crafts home has been beautifully restored by Cave Interiors and features the original wood paneling. To bring the look up-to-date the paneling has been paired with curtains in a beautiful fabric covered in hand-painted bird illustrations. Quality materials are a cornerstone of Arts and Crafts interior design, reflecting the movement’s dedication to craftsmanship and longevity.
Artisanal touches are at the core of arts and crafts design, emphasizing the skillful craftsmanship of the designer. Influenced by the Gothic-Revival architect George Edmund Street, the interiors feature hand-crafted items and ornamental details. 'The variety of materials and skills used in interiors of the period, including tiles, enamelwork, oversized engraved hinges, carved paneling, and stained glass, celebrate the individual craft of a maker. Many of the prominent names in the movement were simultaneously architects, furniture designers, and textile designers, which is indicative of the broad approach they took to interior decoration,' Leo suggests. Based in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, Alyssa Kapito brings a fresh take on the classics and has a great appreciation of antiques and art. Hapgood built several Craftsman-style homes, many from stucco, that comprise the lakeside borough of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. Residents were called "Lakers." The homes followed signature styles, including bungalows and chalets.
One of William Morris’s greatest and most popular creations were wallpaper designs. He was not the only Arts and Crafts designer creating wallpapers, and they were very common in many homes of the style. At the time, in the late 19th century, the approach was relatively simple and in comparison to victorian design it really just stood back and let the materials shine. The Arts and Crafts movement influenced so much of the art, design and architecture in the world around us. You’ve probably encountered it, perhaps without knowing, so we’ve created a guide to all the most iconic features of the period. A graduate of Art History and formerly Style Editor at Period Living, she is passionate about architecture, creating decorating content, interior styling and writing about craft and historic homes.
It was an exciting spectacle, but it did have its detractors, including William Morris, one of the movement’s most famous figures. He was so appalled by the show’s excesses that it reputedly reduced him to a bout of sickness. Although originating in the 1880s, the arts and crafts style continues to find its place in modern interiors. With a renewed interest in hand-crafted and sustainable items, arts and crafts designers like Ben Pentreath infuse contemporary homes with a sense of art and design inspired by nature. You can incorporate arts and crafts style design elements in your home by looking for hand-crafted items and nature-inspired decor. Art Nouveau is another artistic movement that had a significant influence on arts and crafts interiors.
Smith’s own home, a Greek Revival townhouse in New Orleans, graced one of two covers for our April 2023 issue. At the moment, she’s in the midst of completing residential projects in New York, Georgia, and New Hampshire. Visually, this philosophy was expressed through a myriad of styles and mediums, from humble wooden furniture to ornate surface design.
With enduring appeal these beautiful prints, whether archive originals or recolored designs, look just as effective today, bringing visual delight and British heritage into the home. Being rooms in which we spend little time, but also spaces frequented by guests, cloakrooms make brilliant spaces to experiment with print and color. Arts and crafts decor is perfect for those seeking to inject nature and heritage in into the home. Opt for a classic scheme with William Morris's Strawberry Thief or Blackthorn designs, or introduce wallpaper or upholstery featuring florals, botanicals, and fruits in an inspired design. 'There was a reaction to the increasing mechanization of production and reproduction in the Victorian era, hence the focus on the craft of the individual. Classical, Jacobean & Gothic motifs appear in many designs from the period but are not stymied by tradition and are repurposed in fresh and unusual ways,' he adds.

"Craftsman" was appropriated from furniture-maker Gustav Stickley, whose magazine The Craftsman was first published in 1901. The architectural style was most widely used in small-to-medium-sized Southern California single-family homes from about 1905, so the smaller-scale Craftsman style became known alternatively as "California bungalow". The style remained popular into the 1930s and has continued with revival and restoration projects.

These homeowners wanted an Arts and Crafts style in their kitchen and opted for high-quality wood and other natural materials to get the look. They kept items simple but chose long-lasting finishes like copper, stone, and iron. The words “minimalism,” “declutter,” “craftsmanship,” are now all part of our everyday conversations, not only present in Arts and Crafts interior design. Perhaps you still remember your mother or grandmother mentioning their home economics class and what they learned there.

This would ensure that rather than having a cluttered space full of objects that you don’t necessarily love, you would have one or two items that you could rely on to function properly and to enhance your life. It heralded a new approach in which architecture, furniture and adornments were all intended to sit in harmony. In line with the use of natural materials, and the earth tone hues, natural pigments were both part of the philosophical values of the movement, as well as the aesthetic principles.
His designs were so beautiful and so exclusive, that only a few people could afford them. A quick visit to the online home of William Morris & Co. shows the Arts and Crafts aesthetic ideal of stylized shapes grounded in natural forms. The Arts and Crafts movement drew inspiration from Medieval, Japanese, and Islamic art, because of their themes and the striking graphic quality of the works themselves. The members of the Arts and Crafts movement believed that excess ornamentation was unnecessary, and an indicator of poor-quality design.
Robert Stilin is known for effortlessly combining crisp, clean architecture with custom upholstery, antique and vintage furniture, and modern and contemporary art. Current projects include an oceanfront home in Palm Beach, a farmhouse in Connecticut, and a contemporary estate in Southern California. Craftsman homes predate the midcentury modern period but still tie in nicely together, working well with those furniture and decor choices. Classically charming and versatile, Craftsman homes blend easily with other interior decor styles, such as transitional, traditional, eclectic, boho chic, modern, and contemporary. During the second half of the 19th century, industrial processes and goods were replacing objects traditionally made by craftsmen. Many of these objects were showcased during the Great Exhibition, hosted in London in 1851.

Although the sea trout was a little overcooked too, it tasted good, especially the sauce.

Norwegian’s Sushi & Sashimi Bar offers all-you-can-eat sushi for a $15 cover charge. The antipasti plate included tomatoes, olives, prosciutto, peppers, and capers. The beef carpaccio with arugula and Parmesan was cut thinly, but the edges were a little brownish. The sauce with sage and red wine was the best part about the dish. The biggest disappointment we had here was with the gnocchi, which arrived cooked to a texture resembling chewing gum. The pasta frutti di mare on the other hand, was fantastic, with lots of fish, shrimp, and mussels and an amazing tomato sauce.
We have had better NCL experiences
Some obstructed-view outsides on Deck 8, situated behind the lifeboats, can measure up to 196 square feet. This is a good option for people who want a bit of natural light and more space (usually for the price of an inside). Teppanyaki & Sushi – The staple of Asian food across the NCL fleet. The shared dining experience can be great fun if you get lucky with the tablemates seated at your grill.

Or unwind inside in well-appointed and stylish accommodations. Norwegian Dawn features a large fitness center that will appeal to athletic passengers as well as those who want to fight the estimated five pounds of cruise-related weight gain. The room is equipped with elliptical machines, treadmills, bicycles, rowing machines, and circuit machines. There is also a gym area with mats and free weights, as well as a separate spin room with several bikes. Classes, like Fab Abs, Boot Camp and yoga, as well as seminars (such as “how to increase your metabolism”) are also offered. Be aware, though, that a lot of seminars are just the beginning of a sales pitch.
Gene Sloan's Opinion on the Norwegian Dawn
Or take Lady Luck for a spin in the expansive Dawn Casino. Offering a wide range of spacious accommodations, there are staterooms to fit every family size and budget. Let Norwegian Dawn whisk you away to some of the dreamiest destinations around the world. That said, the Norwegian Dawn has just as diverse an array of restaurants, in keeping with the flexible, lots-of-alternatives "freestyle" dining format of Norwegian ships. We give the Freedom of the Seas the edge on food quality, while the Norwegian Dawn had a more laid-back atmosphere. The seawater pool is six feet deep and kept around 82 degrees.
There are also healthy choices like yogurt, fruit plates, cereals. One thing we should note is that all the restaurants have different names for the same items, especially desserts. If something sounds familiar, it's probably the item you ate in another place. The Norwegian Dawn offers internet and phone connections at sea. Access to the Internet costs 75 cents per minute, although there are multi-minute packages that bring that cost down. WiFi is available across the entire ship, at the same rates.

I found the visit to the orphanage very distressing and there seemed to be no way to make a donation to help out with its work. We stopped very briefly at a botanic garden which was lovely but we had no chance to explore. I think there is some work to be done with the local travel agencies to develop the tourist offering here. I think NCL had a chance to make it something special but chose not to.

Keep in mind that as the newest and hottest ship in the Norwegian fleet, the Norwegian Epic generally sells at a premium to the Norwegian Dawn on a per person basis. In addition, the two ships currently are operating on significantly different itineraries, with the Dawn sailing to Bermuda out of Boston this year while the Epic is sailing to the Caribbean out of Miami.
A beautiful ship and the perfect size
Parents can watch their kids from the outside but are not allowed to enter the area. Sun chairs are lined up around the pool, as well as tables in the pool casino. The Dawn has one main pool area, a kids-only pool, and a hot tub. At Gatsby's and Star Bar the Norwegian Dawn offers martinis and other mixed drinks. The Topsiders bar offers daiquiris, margaritas, and piña colada. These are pre-mixed with the alcohol added later, so you can order them virgin.
Gene Sloan writes about cruising for USA TODAY, the nation’s top-selling newspaper, and oversees USA TODAY’s online cruise site, The Cruise Log. Since the size of the Dawn is smaller than more modern ships, you’d expect the pool and pool areas to be smaller as well. While they are in fact smaller than mega-ship pools, the way the Dawn creatively has seating around the pool makes up for the actual size! In a unique “stadium style” seating arrangement around the pain pool and various spaces with loungers, it’s easy to actually get a space in a time where chair hogs run wild. The dining options are incredible and the ship has all of the legacy restaurants you’d expect from NCL including O’Sheehan’s Pub, Garden Cafe, and Bamboo Asian food. There are also the staple specialty dining restaurants including Le Bistro, La Cucina, Los Lobos, Teppanyaki, Sushi, Cagney’s & Moderno.
Dinner has a wider selection of hot food than lunch, with such dishes as potato gratin and pasta, but also a lot of salads. Most the food in the Garden Café during lunch and dinner tastes good, but it's nothing special. The bulk of the rooms on board are 159-square-foot Oceanview cabins and 203-square-foot Balcony cabins. The former have a window overlooking the sea but no balcony. The latter are similar to Oceanview cabins but come with a balcony.
Here, smart casual attire is required for dinner, which means that guests should wear items such as trousers or skirts with a collared shirt or blouse. It’s not necessary to wear a jacket or tie, but it’s always a good idea to dress up a little. Most notably on Deck 11 the cabins in the center of the deck may experience some noise during breakfast and dinner service from the buffet above.
There are multiple hot tubs with additional hot tubs (or should I say one hot tub) on a sun deck towards the front of the ship (strange, though more private). Activities on the NCL Dawn are what you’d expect from Norwegian Cruise Line including game shows like “Deal or No Deal”, Not So Newly Wed game, and a few other fun things like bingo, trivia, and slot tournaments. Another nice touch for some downtime is the current movies often screened in the Bliss Lounge. For people looking for a ton of onboard activities, they might be a little bored on the Dawn. The ship is more relaxed and less back-to-back “things to do” all day long.

The balconies are furnished with two chairs and a small table. Aft-facing balconies on decks 8 through 10 are the same size as regular balcony cabins but offer a larger veranda, ranging in size from 71 to 136 square feet. These cabins feature queen beds that can separate out into twins, one nightstand, a corner vanity with an ottoman-like stool and attached hair dryer, and a moveable square table with a second stool. Hidden behind cabinet doors in the closet area are a mini-bar (you can ask to have the items removed) and a safe. Cabins also come with ice buckets and glasses, and coffee makers and coffee cups.
For travelers in the Northeastern USA, the convenience of boarding the Dawn at a close-to-home port without having to get on an airplane to reach the ship may tip the balance in its favor when picking a ship. Passengers are shown where to go in case of an emergency, how to put on a life vest, and how to recognize the alarm's sound. It's a lot like the emergency drill on a plane, but with a lot more people. Every night brings something a little different in the ship's main theater – one night a magician, the next night a comedian. The casino has a bar that serves both full meals and drinks.
Given the theme – a Caribbean fun feel – most of the ship is decorated with sea motifs and palms. Lunch in the Garden Cafe offers sandwiches, sausages, and more cold food than hot food. This is probably a good thing, as you can get a better a la carte lunch at Venetians or burgers at Bimini. Of course a buffet would not be a buffet without such things as mashed potatoes and salads.
Norwegian Dawn Cruise Reviews
My luggage was very late to arrive so I went to dinner in clothes in my hand luggage from our stay in Capetown - the advantage of NCL's very casual dress code. So a poor start was followed by several other disappointments. I thought the entertainment programme over the 3 weeks was very poor with only 2 production shows in that time. There were several quizzes each day and these were well attended but questions were often repeated and at least twice the whole quiz was repeated.
Oceanview Cabin
Walk farther in and the room opens up a little, featuring a large, queen-size bed. A french door with a child lock opens to the balcony, which is as wide as the room. At the end of the closet is a little vanity with mirror and the only 110-volt plug in the room. As with other NCL ships, the Free at Sea program is almost unbeatable when it comes to value. Almost everything is included in the price of your cruise, including meals, activities, and even most drinks.
For others, Dawn's reasonable cruise fares -- many people on our trip took advantage of last-minute sales -- means they can afford to come onboard and then only pay for the things they really want. Many passengers mitigate the constant charging by taking advantage of booking offers, like free beverages or dining packages and shore excursion credit. The Norwegian Dawn cruise ship cabins page is conveniently interlinked with its deck plans showing deck layouts combined with a legend and review of all onboard venues.
Expect a local crowd; for example, when the ship sails out of Boston, the passengers are predominantly from New England, New York and New Jersey. Norwegian Dawn is also a popular ship with members of Norwegian's Casinos at Sea Players Club and hosts several invitation-only casino tournament cruises each year. Repositioning and Canada/New England sailings do attract a generally older crowd who are less active at night.
Lounge & Cafés
Overall this was one of the worst dinners we had on the Dawn. There's no way to know as we didn't have the time to give it a second try. The menu offers nigiri sushi or sashimi with tuna, salmon, octopus or prawn, and sushi rolls like California, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura. There are also some more exotically-named rolls like the Godzilla Roll with shrimp, mango, avocado and caramelized cashews, or the Rock & Roll with eel, yellowtail and avocado.
Yet standard cabin bathrooms and furnishings remain the same, so expect some scuffs on the tables and throwback ashtrays by the toilet. A medical clinic is located on deck four, the lowest passenger deck of the Dawn. When the ship was rocked by a storm on our second cruise day, leaving some passengers feeling ill, it turned out to be a very busy day for the clinic, and they kept up with the added traffic just fine. Norwegian Cruise Line's flexible "freestyle" format includes flexibility in dress, and the dress code is casual. Even so, some restaurants, such as Aqua, Venetian, Le Bistro, and La Cucina require a little more formal dress code, meaning closed shoes and pants (no shorts) for men, and dresses or nice shirts for women. For a quieter and more sophisticated evening, try Gatsby's on deck six.

The ladyfingers are soaked in coffee, the cream is sweet, and the tiramisu melts in your mouth. The flowerless chocolate cake with mascarpone creme was good, but it might be chocolate-heavy for some. Decorated with original works by Van Gogh, Matisse, and Monet, lit by dimmed lights and candles on the table, Le Bistro is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. We had excellent service at the upscale French restaurant, Le Bistro. There is a choice of nine entrees of traditional teppanyaki and combinations (much like a surf and turf, but Japanese-style). Watching the preparation of the meat made us confident that it would be prepared just as we asked for it.
All Garden Villas come with a certified butler and concierge services. With 2,340 passengers, Dawn feels neither too big nor too small. At dinner, you can choose from 11 restaurants, including no-charge Asian and pub food options and extra-fee steak, Italian, French and Mexican venues. The food is generally quite good, though a la carte pricing in most specialty restaurants takes away some of the carefree fun of trying out multiple dishes.
When we ate here, unfortunately, we didn't have the best of experiences. Food-wise, it wasn't a bad meal, but service was lacking. Our waiter either was very busy (despite the eatery being nearly deserted) or just plain rude as he wasn't attentive to us at all. We're guessing it was the latter, as we noticed him showing far more interest in the two young girls next to us.
Breakfast is also served at the Blue Lagoon, the only place to get food 24/7 other than ordering room service. These Inside Staterooms are the most affordable way for you to cruise. And of course you'll have access to room service and all kinds of other great amenities on board. The key card opens the door and even though the Balcony Staterooms are fairly spacious for a cruise ship, it's difficult to get into the room, especially with a big suitcase. On the right side is the tiny bathroom, on the left closet and storage space.
The only public place inside the ship other than the casino where smoking is allowed is the Havana Lounge. The Spinnaker Lounge has a dance floor and is used for different activities and shows, like dance classes, bingo, and comedy shows, as it holds up to 500 people. On some evenings, the poolside bar Topsiders turns into a night club. The Star Bar offers drinks in a quite and dimly-lit ambiance with live piano music, making it a perfectly romantic spot. For dessert Cagney's offers a variety of the same things you get in other restaurants, as well as some specials. The sampler plate, for example, includes apple pie, cheese cake lollipops, and espresso brownies – all of which are available in other restaurants, too, just with a different name and look.
